About University of Liverpool, Bengaluru Campus

The University College, Liverpool, opened its doors in 1882 with the intention of equipping locals with degrees in Arts, Science, and other subjects. The college joined the federal Victoria University in 1884, which granted it authority to award recognized degrees through the federal university system. In 1903, the institution was granted a Royal Charter, officially transforming University College, Liverpool, into the University of Liverpool. Its journey took a historic turn when it became a founding member of the prestigious Russel Group in 1994. This membership cemented its position among the UK's leading research-intensive institutions and highlighted its academic excellence, innovation, and impactful research. Today, the University has multiple campuses around the world, one of which is located in Bengaluru, India’s Silicon Valley. The University of Liverpool, Bengaluru Campus is the first fully operational campus of a Russell Group University in India. It is approved under India’s National Education Policy (NEP 2020). This will mark a significant turning point in India's educational landscape as the country continues to emerge as a globally powerful hub for innovation, research, and academic excellence. With the opening of this campus in India, the university aims to strengthen cross-border education collaboration between India and the UK, allowing students to earn a globally recognized UK degree while studying in India’s technology and start-up hub. At the campus, students receive the same academic standards and rigorous curriculum as at the main campus. At the Bengaluru Campus, students will engage in a fully flexible, integrated learning environment with smart classrooms, research and innovation areas, collaboration centers, specialized labs, and access to Bloomberg terminals. With its strategic location in Bengaluru's Alembic City, Whitefield offers a curriculum shaped by partnerships with major corporations, providing excellent employment prospects. With the international campus in India, UK students can learn and explore in India, while India-based students can spend a semester at the home campus or transfer effortlessly in the final year.
