About University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, England

Established in 2005 through the merger of the Kent Institute of Art and Design and the Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University for the Creative Arts (UCA) is one of the leading universities in UK for international students looking to explore the fields of art, design, and creativity. Located in Southern England, UCA has four campuses across Surrey and Kent—Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, and Maidstone Studios. Among these, UCA Farnham is the main campus and holds special recognition, having been awarded the World Craft Town status. Currently, international students make up nearly 30% of UCA’s student population. One of the key reasons many choose to study at University for the Creative Arts is its standout strength in research excellence. The university is home to seven world-leading research centres, namely, the Animation Research Centre, Audio Research Cluster, Centre for Sustainable Design, Cluster for Cinema Affect and Place, Cluster for Ontologies, Ecologies, and Ethics, Conflict and the Creative Arts, and the Crafts Study Centre. These research centres cover a range of disciplines—from animation and audio to sustainable design and cinema. In addition, the Innovation Hub (UCAiHUB) drives Knowledge Exchange initiatives that connect students, graduates, and staff with the wider creative industries. The university also has active partnerships with ten universities, private institutions, and research collaborators both in the UK and internationally. Affiliated with GuildHE, UCA maintains high academic and ethical standards while offering a supportive, student-focused environment.
