University College Birmingham originated as an independent institution, distinct from Birmingham’s Municipal Technical School, which later became part of Aston University. Over the years, it underwent several name changes to reflect its evolving focus and range of programs. In 2007, it adopted the name University College Birmingham, and in 2012, it achieved full university status. The University has a total student population of 10,000, representing around 90 countries. Nearly 3,100 of these students are international, all enrolled in career-focused education and training programs. It is organized into three schools, each overseeing courses at the Postgraduate, Undergraduate, and Professional levels. These schools are made up of multiple departments and are located across seven campus buildings in central Birmingham. Some of the University’s degree courses are accredited and awarded by the University of Warwick. This means that while the courses are developed by Warwick and delivered at University College Birmingham, graduates receive their final degrees from the University of Warwick.
