The University at Albany (UAlbany) was established in 1844 as the New York State Normal School. It holds the distinction of being the first Public Institution of higher learning in New York State. Over its 180-year history, UAlbany has become a major Public Research University. To formally accept an offer of admission to the University at Albany, students must respond ‘Yes’ to the official offer.
