International Studies is a hybrid program in itself, featuring many disciplines, which combine several minors into a single major program. Since a student needs to complete discrete courses toward a minor, it is difficult to combine a minor in History, Political Studies, or Geography with International Studies.
To find who the advisor is, students have to first log in to the student portal. From there, they need to click on "View Profile" and then "Academic Information". The name of the advisor will appear at the very top of the page.
Faculty Advisors are experts in their field and often teach courses within their programs. They can answer specific degree or program questions for students. On the other hand, Academic Advisors are professional advisors in the Learning Commons who can give students advice about the core requirements, their checklists, graduation requirements, major changes, and more.
