Established in 1861, SUNY Oswego began as the Oswego Primary Teachers’ Training School, founded by Edward Austin Sheldon. In 1948, it became a charter member of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. The campus has undergone major improvements in recent years, including the addition of the Marano Campus Center and the Shineman Center for Science, Engineering, and Innovation. As one of 13 university colleges in the SUNY system, Oswego brings together a diverse mix of students and faculty.
