The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) was established in 1978 by Richard G. Rowan in Savannah, Georgia. It is widely recognized as one of the premier Art and Design institutions in the United States. It has multiple campuses offering degree programs in both Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia, along with study abroad opportunities in Lacoste, France and other international locations. Each location provides a distinct educational experience, and students who choose to study at SCAD have the flexibility to transition between campuses during any academic quarter. More than 17,500 students from all 50 U.S. states and over 120 countries choose to study at SCAD, reflecting its global appeal and diverse academic community. The university employs nearly 1,900 full- and part-time staff, including approximately 700 faculty members. Over 76% of them hold a terminal degree, underscoring the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
