Otago Polytechnic is a leading Institution for applied education in New Zealand. It was established in 1870 as the Dunedin School of Art, nearly a century later Otago Polytechnic was officially started in 1966. Over the span of 150+ years, the polytechnic offers a diverse range of programs to make students work-ready, capable and confident. With 3 campuses, the Institution serves a diverse student population of over 9,000 learners annually, including a significant number of international students. The Dunedin campus is located in the heart of the city's vibrant student district. It is just a ten-minute walk from the city centre. In Central Otago, campuses in Cromwell and Wānaka offer programs with hands-on learning experiences in areas such as horticulture, snowsports, and outdoor education. The Otago Polytechnic Auckland International Campus, situated on Queen Street, is exclusively for international students. Otago Polytechnic's mission is to build the capabilities of individuals, organizations, and communities, enabling them to achieve their potential.
