Established in 1975, North Island College (NIC) is a public institution recognized for its commitment to accessible and community-driven education. With four campuses located across Vancouver Island—Campbell River, Comox Valley, Port Alberni, and Mix̱alakwila—NIC operates on the traditional, unceded territories of 35 First Nations of the Nuu-chah-nulth, Kwakwaka’wakw, and Coast Salish peoples. Program changes are not allowed during the first term of study. From the second term onward, students may request a change, provided they meet the admission requirements for the new program and pay a $100 fee. For limited entry programs, changes are not permitted within the first year. If the new program is offered at a different campus, relocation may be required.
Award notifications are usually sent between July 31 and August 15 via email to the official NIC email address. Recipients will have a limited timeframe to accept or decline the award, so regular email checks are recommended.
