The Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) is a premier institution of higher learning in Canada. It was established in 1925 as a living tribute to the Newfoundlanders and Labradorians who perished in World War I. Originally started as Memorial University College with a modest cohort of 55 students and six faculty members, it attained University status in 1949. Today, MUN stands as the largest University in Atlantic Canada, enrolling over 18,000 students from more than 120 countries. This diverse student body is supported by a dedicated team of over 3,700 faculty and staff members. MUN's expansive presence includes multiple campuses within the country and one international campus. The St. John's Campus spanning approximately 220 acres in the province's capital is the main campus offering a comprehensive range of academic programs in a modern urban setting. Other campuses include Grenfell Campus, Marine Institute, Labrador Campus, and Signal Hill Campus. The Harlow Campus, based in Essex, England, offers international learning experiences.
