In 2009, it was formally designated as Grant MacEwan University through an official Order in Council, and in 2013, the institution adopted the simplified name ‘MacEwan University’ for branding and public communication. Students are permitted to begin working only after their academic program has officially started. Arriving early in Canada does not grant permission to work prior to the program’s commencement.
There is no fixed rule for how early a student can enter Canada, as long as they arrive before the expiration of their MacEwan Letter of Acceptance. However, it is recommended to arrive with sufficient time to get settled and prepare for the start of classes, using the university’s pre-arrival resources for guidance.
