About Leeds Trinity University, Leeds, England
Established in 1966 as two Catholic teacher training colleges, Trinity College and All Saints College, Leeds Trinity University (LTU) has evolved into a modern Public University that gained full University status in 2012. Today, LTU operates a distinctive ‘One university, two campuses’ model. The original 60-acre Horsforth Main Campus is in leafy north west Leeds, and the purpose-built Leeds City Campus, opened in October 2024 within Trevelyan Square, five minutes’ walk from the railway station. With a taught community of nearly 14,765 students, including more than 1,300 Postgraduates, LTU remains intentionally small, fostering personalised learning and strong academic support. To study at Leeds Trinity University, UK, Academic provision is organised into three career-oriented faculties: Business, Computing & Digital Industries; Health, Wellness & Life Sciences; and Social Sciences & Education, each housing specialist Schools. The resulting portfolio exceeds 250 Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Foundation pathways, all embedding compulsory professional placements, a practice LTU pioneered in the 1970s. Professional credibility of the courses is supported by several external accreditations. Research capacity is growing, with many internationally recognised outcomes spanning Psychology, Sport Science, Law and English. The strategic research hubs, namely, the Leeds Centre for Victorian Studies and Schools History Project, among others, extend LTU’s scholarly influence. The University’s vision is ‘to be a leading career-led and applied University’, founded on Catholic values of dignity, solidarity, honesty and inclusivity; its mission pledges a transformational education for students of all faiths and backgrounds. Employment outcomes validate that commitment, where graduates were in work or further study within 15 months, well above the sector median. Alumni include prominent broadcaster and former Chancellor Gabby Logan, MPs, Olympic medallists and senior media professionals, evidencing LTU’s reach across public life.
