Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), established in 1875, began its journey as the Indiana Normal School under the Normal School Act and evolved over subsequent decades through state adoption, name changes, and expansion into a full University. Over its long history, it has matured into a leading Public Doctoral/Research University in the U.S., combining rigorous academic standards, broad research activity, and student-centred learning. IUP’s main campus is in the town of Indiana, Pennsylvania, situated about an hour northeast of Pittsburgh.
