Started in 1958 as Brevard Engineering College, the Florida Institute of Technology is a research university that has, over the years, became one of the top universities for Student Experience, Graduate Employability, and more. The University has one major campus which is located in the city of Melbourne, Florida, also known as the Space Coast. The campus is close to downtown, the airport, the beach, and the NASA Kennedy Center. Another feature of the campus is its Florida Tech Challenge Course, which is an outdoor recreation and leadership training facility. It has more than 7,000 students, with 23% international students coming from more than 80 countries. 424 faculty members of the University are Ph.D. holders or have degrees in their field. All the programs at Florida Institute of Technology are taught in 4 different colleges, namely the College of Aeronautics, the Bisk College of Business, the College of Engineering and Science, and the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts.
