Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU), established in 1942, stands as New Jersey's Largest Private Institution of higher education. Expanding its international footprint, FDU inaugurated its Vancouver Campus in 2007, marking its fourth campus and the first American University to offer accredited degrees in Canada. Situated in the vibrant Yaletown district of downtown Vancouver, the campus offers students a unique opportunity to study at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Canada and earn U.S.-accredited degrees. The Vancouver Campus has students representing more than 50 countries. This diversity is further enriched by faculty and staff hailing from across the globe and collectively speaking over 41 languages. The Offices of Student Life actively sponsor a variety of on-campus activities and off-campus excursions. Student organisations plan and promote events, resulting in a diverse and engaging calendar of activities. Many of these events are subsidised by the University and are either free of charge or available at a nominal cost. Recent activities have included Homecoming and Family Weekend, Springfest, musical performances, comedy shows, films, fashion and talent shows, and social gatherings. Students can also support athletic teams, participate in intramural sports, attend religious services, or enjoy theatrical productions.
A faculty adviser is a member of the University’s faculty who offers guidance to students regarding course selection within their major and career planning related to their field of study. The Academic Advising Centers provide broader advising services, assisting students with matters related to the core curriculum, major requirements, course scheduling, changes of major, academic progress, and degree completion. Since advising procedures may vary depending on the student’s major and class standing, students are encouraged to first consult with their Academic Advising Center for appropriate guidance.
A completed application typically requires three to four weeks to be processed. An application is considered complete once all necessary documents have been received by the Admissions Office.
There are numerous opportunities for students to secure employment on campus at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vancouver. Students may serve in various roles, such as research assistants, campus tour guides, or clerks in the bookstore. Many students also qualify for federally funded work-study positions.
