De Montfort University Dubai, established in 2021, is an international branch of the prestigious De Montfort University in the United Kingdom, which has been providing education since 1870. It holds the distinction of being the only UK university recognized by the United Nations as the Global Hub for Sustainable Development Goal 11. DMU Dubai is a purpose-built, standalone campus located alongside major global companies such as Google, Facebook, Microsoft, HP, and LinkedIn. Covering 85,000 square feet, the campus can host up to 3,000 students. Following the academic approach seen in several top Universities in Dubai, DMU Dubai implements a block teaching system, where each module is taught one at a time. This method enables students to concentrate fully on a single subject before moving on to the next, rather than managing multiple courses. The campus has a student population of nearly 1,200 and offers Postgraduate, Undergraduate, and Foundation programs across a wide range of disciplines. Students are distributed across four faculties: the Faculty of Computing, Engineering and Media; the Faculty of Business and Law; the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences; and the Faculty of Arts, Design and Humanities. The university also engages in research across key areas such as sustainable fashion, smart reuse of waste plastics, and creative applications of artificial intelligence. Students at DMU Dubai also have the option to transfer to De Montfort University in Leicester.
