Established in 2002, California State University, Channel Islands (CSUCI) is the newest and youngest addition to the 23-campus California State University system. Located in Camarillo, California, midway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles and just 25 miles from Malibu, CSUCI is nestled against the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, offering proximity to the Pacific Ocean and the Pacific Coast Highway. Despite its name, no ferry is needed to reach the campus. CSUCI is a four-year Public University that emphasizes student-centred learning and innovative teaching.
