About California Miramar University, San Diego, California
California Miramar University, USA, or CalMU, was founded in 2005 with a vision of providing 21st-century, technology-driven learning for higher education students. In the same year, the university acquired the assets of Pacific Western University, including its State of California approval status. The university’s main motive was to offer flexible, affordable, and career-ready education for non-traditional students, specifically international students, U.S. military veterans, and working professionals. In 2023, the university was acquired by SP Jain School of Global Management, one of the most highly esteemed global business schools, with campuses in four major international business hubs — Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, and Sydney. The partnership with SP Jain School of Global Management was strategic. With the school's global influence, expertise, and teaching methodologies, CalMU strengthened its commitment to AI-first education by introducing cutting-edge undergraduate and graduate programs in Artificial Intelligence, including an MBA and an MS in AI. The university campus is spread across three locations in California. The main campus is in San Diego, which offers convenient access to public transportation, dining, and local services. It is fully equipped with an IT student lab, a library, modern classroom spaces, and outdoor study areas. The second campus is in La Puente, LA, an in-residence site serving as a residential learning location for students. The third campus is in San Jose, the largest city in Silicon Valley, offering connectivity opportunities with leading technology companies and innovation hubs. Currently, CalMU offers programs in various fields from the Associate to the Doctoral level. Some of the popular fields include Business Administration, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, and Computer Information Systems. Since the university aims to equip students with highly employable skills, it encourages faculty-led research projects in business, technology, and AI. With students from all over the world, CalMU fosters a truly diverse and inclusive campus community.
