About American University in Dubai, Dubai
Located in one of the world’s fastest-growing cities, the American University in Dubai (AUD) is one of the most established international institutions in the region. Founded in 1995, following a four-year planning phase that began in 1991, AUD was created with the vision of bringing the American education system to the Middle East while respecting local culture and values. Today, it hosts over 2,000 students from more than 100 nationalities, offering a truly global experience for those who choose to study in Dubai. Notably, AUD was the first university outside the U.S. and Latin America to receive accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). It is also accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education, KHDA, and other international bodies like the AACSB. The university features five key centres, including the Center for Executive Programs and Professional Services, the Center for Research, Innovation and Design, the AUD Entrepreneurship and Innovation Centre, the Middle East Cities Center, and the Center for Interdisciplinary Engineering Research.
