About The American College of Greece
Founded in 1875 in Smyrna (modern-day İzmir, Turkey), The American College of Greece stands as a distinguished pioneer in international higher education. Originally established by Congregational missionaries from Boston to provide high-quality education, the College relocated to Athens, Greece, in 1923. Since then, it has grown into the oldest and largest U.S.-accredited educational institution in Europe. With a rich history spanning nearly 150 years, ACG has consistently blended the best of American liberal arts tradition with global perspectives, making it a premier choice for students who wish to study in Greece within a globally recognised academic framework. ACG operates across three distinct campuses in the Athens region. The principal 64-acre Aghia Paraskevi Campus serves as the heart of Undergraduate and Graduate studies, offering modern academic facilities, research laboratories, libraries, cultural venues, and athletic centres with breathtaking views of Athens. The East Campus in Spata supports Pierce’s pre-kindergarten through secondary education, while Alba Graduate Business School is situated in downtown Athens, delivering top-tier business education in the heart of the city. To study at The American College of Greece, Greece, the College comprises three major academic divisions: Pierce (pre-university education), Deree (undergraduate and graduate programs), and Alba Graduate Business School (offering MBA, MSc, and Executive programs). ACG’s academic programs are U.S.-accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). The institution serves a diverse student body of over 5,600 Undergraduate and Graduate students, representing more than 80 nationalities.
